Sarah Fisher

Sarah will be a junior, ACS Biochemistry major at Augustana College this fall. Originally from the Deep South, she enjoys hot weather, travelling, rock climbing, bike riding, and surfing. At Augustana, she is active in the chemistry department and the international programs office. After graduation, Sarah plans on attending medical school but continues to keep an open mind about her future. Sarah's summer project invovled the preparation and evaluation of novel isothiocyanates.

Collin Noldner

Collin Noldner

Hometown: Sioux Falls, SD
Major(s): ACS Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Mathematics

Hailing from the bustling metropolis that is Sioux Falls, SD, Collin Noldner graduated from Lincoln High School in 2011 and will be a junior this fall at Augustana College. He is pursuing degrees in chemistry, biology, physics, and mathematics, and hopes to attend medical school after graduation. Collin also plays saxophone in the Augustana Band and plays tennis for the Augustana tennis team. In his spare time, Collin enjoys reading, playing basketball, watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings, golfing, woodworking, and spending time with family and friends. Collin's research project is to develop alternative an alternative synthesis for glucosinolates.

Ethan Pauley

Ethan Pauley

Hometown: Vale, SD
Major(s): ACS Biochemistry

Hailing from Vale, SD, Ethan will be a junior at Augustana this fall, majoring in ACS Biochemistry and minoring in Psychology. He is active in the campus community through his roles as a student ambassador, New Student Orientation leader, SMACS club vice president, and chapel music coordinator. In his free time, Ethan enjoys writing and producing music (currently recording his debut album), collecting coins, hunting, fishing, and reading random Wikipedia articles. After his time at Augustana is complete, Ethan is planning on pursuing further education in the medical field. Ethan's research for the summer of 2013 focused on the synthesis and evaluation of non-glucosinolate precursors to isothiocyanates.

Genevieve Tillotson

Genevieve Tillotson

Hometown: Rapid City, SD
Major(s): ACS Chemistry

Genevieve comes from the wild west (Rapid City, SD), and will be a junior at Augustana this fall. As a chemistry major, she does not have a lot of free time, but when she does, she enjoys playing clarinet in the Augustana Band, volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club, working with animals, worshiping at church, working on crafts and puzzles, and spending time with her friends. At this point, Genevieve is leaning towards pursuing a Ph.D. in medicinal or organic chemistry, but is also considering becoming a small animal veterinarian. During the summer of 2013, her research involved evaluating the glutathione S-transferase (GST)-mediated thiocarbamoylation of isothiocyanates (ITCs) and synthesizing and evaluating nitrile-substituted benzyl ITC analogues.
