Current Research
I am currently working on a few things since my recent projects that have appeared in Journal of the West and Idaho Yesterdays. First, I have taken on the story of H. L. Loucks, one of South Dakota's most important late nineteenth and early twentieth century reformers. Also, I am (re)examining Lewis J. Duncan, Butte, Montana's socialist mayor from 1911 to 1915 - and am preparing an article-length manuscript on him, as part of a Summer 2006 ARAF grant from Augustana. Much of my time, too, has been dedicated to the preparation of my first book, They Are All Red Out Here: Socialist Politics in the Pacific Northwest, 1895-1925, due out Fall '08 from the University of Oklahoma Press.
